The Monte Roen via ferrata is the Val di Non’s via ferrata par excellence. From Rifugio Oltradige, you can reach the summit of Monte Roen in complete safety, in the constant company of your mountain guide. The easy rock face is equipped with metal fixtures to help you climb this most magnificent of cliffs high above the Adige valley.
Never done a via ferrata? Don’t know how to use a harness and karabiners? No problem! You can still do the Monte Roen via ferrata because with a mountain guide by your side almost anything is possible!
A bit of theory on the wide-open expanses of the meadows next to Rifugio Oltradige, steeled by a dash of courage (which you will need to bring yourself!) and then it’s time to head off to the steep side of this mountain. Yes, steep, because the Val di Non has a gentle side, full of green meadows, and a rugged side where the rock rises vertically up from the Adige valley. When you get to the summit and take a look around, you will be very proud of what you have just achieved.
The Monte Roen via ferrata is easy and fairly short but you need experience and the right equipment which is why I recommend that you use a mountain guide.
