Pomaria Special: guided tour of Melinda’s underground storage cells
On the occasion of Pomaria, we invite you to join us for a special tour to discover one of the most fascinating places in Val di Non.
As part of this experience dedicated to the event, you will enter the Rio Maggiore Mine and descend 300 metres underground, where up to 40,000 tonnes of apples are stored.
You will explore the underground storage cells, chambers carved into the rock where temperature and natural conditions allow the fruit to be preserved in optimal conditions. You will discover how apples are transported using a modern cableway system, known as the “Apple Cableway”, and learn more about this unique system up close.
A special opportunity, available during Pomaria, to discover how technology and the mountains work together in the heart of the valley.
