In the heart of the Dolomites: guided tour of Melinda’s underground cells
Did you know that in Val di Non apples are stored inside the mountain? With this guided tour you will enter the Rio Maggiore mine and discover a surprising place: 300 meters underground, up to 40,000 tons of apples are stored.
You will walk through the underground cells, spaces carved into the rock where natural temperature and conditions allow optimal preservation of the fruit. You will discover how apples are transported thanks to a modern cable system, the so-called “Apple Cableway”, and get a closer look at this unique system.
An immersive experience to understand how technology and the mountain work together in the heart of Val di Non.
