Fishing
In order to fish in Val di Non, in addition to complying with regulations, it is necessary to obtain a valid fishing permit. Fishing is allowed from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.
Night fishing is allowed only at Lake Santa Giustina for eel and tench from 1 July to 30 September, while for carp it is permitted from 1 July to 30 November.
Limits on catches, sizes, restrictions and prohibitions can be found in the regulations of the local fishing associations.
Where to fish in Val di Non
The most suitable places for fishing in Val di Non are the calm waters of the mountain lakes, including Lake Santa Giustina, Lake Smeraldo, Lake Tovel, Lake Ruffrè and the Mollaro Basin.
Val di Non is also rich in streams where fishing is allowed: Noce stream, Sporeggio, Barnes (excluding the entire stretch downstream from the water intake at Bagni di Bresimo), Novella stream, Rio Sass, Rio San Romedio, Rinascico, Lavazzè, Linor, Rio Molini, Pongaiola, Pescara, Tresenga and Lovernatico.

Private Lake at Ristorante Bar Baita Marnara – Sporminore
At Ristorante Bar Baita Marnara in Sporminore it is possible to fish for trout in the private lake behind the restaurant on Saturdays and Sundays from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with assisted fishing at a cost of €13.00 per kilo, equipment included.
During the restaurant’s opening hours (except Tuesday, closing day), independent fishing is also possible at a cost of €25.00, equipment included and up to a maximum of 4 trout.

Fishing closing dates
Fishing closes on 30 September for all species and in all waters, except for Lake Smeraldo and Lake Ruffrè, where it closes on 31 October, and for the Santa Giustina basin, where fishing is allowed until 30 November.
During November, fishing is permitted for all species except salmonids (with the exception of rainbow trout).
