The gravel route in Val di Peio extends from the Mezzana railway station and climbs up the Val de la Mare, where the climb will not be delayed: steep slopes on forest roads, fully immersed in dense conifer woods until reaching Malga Pontevecchio. Here, you can take a short break to admire the splendid panorama of the southern peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale group, a true spectacle. Returning to Peio village, the route continues towards Malga di Covel, where you can relax in the green pastures of the malga, where some friendly cows grazing the grass will keep you company. Continuing, the route heads towards Lago Pian Palù, but it is not yet time to catch your breath. Along the trail, there will be sections so steep that you will have to carry your bike by hand, but at the top of the climb, the fascinating emerald waters of Lago Pian Palù will appear.
Points of interest: panoramic viewpoint on the southern peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale Group, Lago di Covel and the eponymous malga, Lago Pian Palù.
