An easy walk that climbs to the highest castle in Trentino. From here it then makes a loop continuing at altitude and descending back to the village of Baselga di Bresimo.
The Castello d'Altaguardia stands on a spur at an altitude of 1224 m and is the highest castle in all of Trentino. The castle was built in the 13th century and today most of the walls have been preserved. It has a special atmosphere and the view from here dominates the entire valley.
Near Bresimo there is a Venetian sawmill, meaning a sawmill powered by water. Venetian sawmills spread in Trentino around the 13th century, at that time among the timber supply areas of the Most Serene Republic of Venice. The sawmill operates exclusively by water power, conveyed through a channel onto a paddle wheel.
