Simple route above the village of Campodenno.
This simple route takes place along a stretch of the Cammino Jacopeo d’Anaunia, an ancient pilgrimage that crosses the entire valley, and of which the ancient church of San Pancrazio is a stop. Inside the church is preserved a holy water font dating back to the 9th century, decorated with Lombard-origin motifs, and in the apse there is an 18th-century painting depicting the Madonna with Child, San Pancrazio, and other saints. Very close by are also the remains of the ancient hermit’s dwelling and a dry stone well from the late medieval period, which served as a trap for bears and wolves.
It is worth stopping at the charming hermitage of San Pancrazio.
