A long hike but with well-distributed elevation gain that leads to the spectacular Campo Flavona and offers unusual perspectives on the famous Lake Tovel.
The proposed route runs entirely on SAT trails whose signage is more than reliable. From the spectacular Lake Tovel, you gradually ascend to the huge amphitheater of Campo Flavona with its homonymous mountain hut. Then you take the path that cuts with gentle ups and downs along the ridges of Cime Val Scura and Val Strangola, offering views from above of Lake Tovel. Upon reaching Passo Termoncello, you descend the steep path back to the lake, passing by the Rislà waterfall.
Above Malga Flavona, the Dolomite rocks hide incredible fossil formations. It's worth stopping for a little treasure hunt!
Once you arrive at Passo Termoncello, you can continue on the trail for another 5 minutes to reach Malga Termoncello, which with its huge meadow overlooks the lower Val di Non.
