A love of fishing

Many people ask me if I love fishing and I always give them the same reply: There is nothing in the world which relaxes me more.

Ever since I was little, I get up early, grab my rod and tackle box and head off into the forests, following the creek upstream until I get to that clearing where I know that the fish bite...

No, no, it’s not a secret, on the contrary, I will tell about it too. We may be Trentini, with a reputation for being more reserved, but we are not “mute like fishes”, as they say round here. The best places in Val di Non for fishing are the calm waters of Lake Santa Giustina, Lake Tovel, Lake Smeraldo or little lakes such as Coredo and Tavon. But there are also streams like the Rio Sass, the Torrente Novella, the Pescara, the Noce river and many others.

Did you know there are some hotels even specialise in welcoming people like us who love fishing? I know some of them! They’re really on the ball: giving you a place to store and wash your equipment, providing information on fishing permits, discounts on hire and a proper breakfast! Because as you know, you have to be hardy to go fishing!
