All ideas, even the most ambitious and beautiful ones, need legs to run.Mieli Thun is a small team supported by many people who, over the years, have embraced and promoted our vision. To all this generous and rich humanity goes our heartfelt thanks.
Educational Farm
We are a farm with a complete production chain, which is why many schools of different levels spend days with us to understand the entire honey production cycle. Since 2004 we have also been recognized as an Educational Farm for schools and groups of children eager to discover the world of bees and honey.
The farm can be visited at any time of the year (except April and May, when we are fully engaged in the flowering season and the owner is particularly busy with the bees). Guided tours last about 2 hours. They start with a presentation of the farm, an explanation of “how a beehive works” and the role of bees, followed by a tasting of three honeys, adapted to the type of group. Groups can include up to 15–20 people.
The Culture of Honey
Our work is also about spreading honey culture and training those who wish to explore our world. On request, we organize tasting courses, training for restaurant and kitchen staff, create honey menus for bars and hotels, host full gastronomic immersions based on honey, and carry out educational farm activities.
Shop
In Vigo di Ton, in Val di Non, right by our company premises, we have set up a spacious shop – not just a farm outlet, but a true “temple” of tasting. Here you will find twenty different types of honey available for tasting, as well as preserves, vinegars, mead, pollen, and above all, our warm hospitality. When someone comes to visit us, it is always a day of celebration at Mieli Thun.
